Day and the Dawnstar (1906) by Herbert James Draper-

The painting shows Apollo, the God of the Sun, reaching out to kiss the lips of the frail Dawnstar, who at that moment, overwhelmed by his radiance, expires.
Draper composed a couplet to accompany the picture: ‘To faint in the light of the sun she loves/To faint in his light and to die’.
